Proverbs 8:34 & 35
Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the post of my doors. For who so findeth me findeth life, and shall find favor of the Lord.
Have you ever been talked to, and you didn’t hear the person, because you were focusing on a show, or reading, or just busy? It wasn’t the distance of the voice making us not hear. This is why we have to wake up and set our heart and soul to hear God. Ask to hear Him. Sometimes He talks through what we see and feel, not a voice. We have to ask, and be taught to hear God. We need to let go of what we think that is. I have learned, the heart and voice of God through my children, husband, friends, “unsaved” people, physical things, and the creation He made. A voice speaking words is not the only way God talks.
We first need to want to hear what He is saying.
Then we need to ask to hear.
Then it says watching daily at His gates. Our bodies are full of gates. That is why the scripture says “guard Your hearts for it is the wellspring of life.” We have to protect our salvation, so that seed can grow and bear fruit for others. The fruit isn’t for us. It is for others. If we are bearing fruit, we have the source and have need of nothing. But others on the journey may need it to revive on their journey, or it can point them to the source so they can bear fruit as well and be saved. Just like our physical bodies have gates or openings, that things go into and come out of. Food, babies, sounds, smells, etc. Life is amazing. If we want to be strong in the Lord, but we only seek Him on Sunday, we won’t have much to go on the rest of the days. God will be limited in our life, and He won’t be able to trust us with the kingdom he wants to restore on this earth.
On a side note, we should not go to church to be fed. We should feed all week, all day on our own. Church should be a place to pour out of that relationship we had all week. To worship who He is and praise His goodness. Can the church have a place in feeding babies? Yes, I think so, but we are called into sonship! I don’t try to talk people into going to church. I want to stir them, and point them to the Father!! One on one for themselves.
Then it says waiting on Him. Oh the waiting!! It can mean so much. Serving, trusting, patiently not quitting the journey, hoping, believing, walking in faith of what you don’t see yet. I could go on and on. I am learning what waiting is like until I go out of this life. But the important thing is, it said waiting at His gates. So we don’t run off and fill our soul with our gates open wide to anything other than Him. Oh, many things will knock on our door and draw and seduce us. But this scripture is a key to life!!! Proverbs 8:30 says Jesus was by God, was daily Gods delight. Rejoicing He was brought up by God unto knowing and hearing Gods voice!!!!! Jesus made a way for us to do the same. Let us set our heart and soul to Hear God today! We focus to HEAR you, Lord.
